Grief Walks
Gentle Steps Toward Healing
Join us this summer for a series of gentle grief walks—a time to reflect, breathe
deeply, and find connection in the quiet embrace of nature.
Each walk begins with a simple grounding practice, followed by an intentional, mindful walk through peaceful trails surrounded by trees, birdsong, and still water.
Along the way, we’ll soak in the sights, sounds, and sensations around us, giving space for grief to simply be.
We gather afterward for optional conversation—a chance to share, or simply to sit in quiet company with others who understand.
What to Expect
Event Details:
- A short welcome and grounding moment
- A mindful, unhurried walk (approx. 30 mins)
- A gentle grief reflection or group discussion (optional, approximately 15 minutes)
- Bottled water and a small reflection card with space to write your thoughts and a pencil provided for each guest*
*Please note that this is a complimentary community event series for guests 18 years and older
Location:
Our walks take place in the serene, nature-filled paths of Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton, AB
— a place where geese gather, wildflowers bloom, and the beauty of life and memory live side by side. We know that for some, walking through a cemetery can feel tender or emotional. Please know there is no expectation to share or stay for the full walk. You are welcome as you are,
wherever you are in your grief.
Dates:
There will be a weekly walk every Wednesday through August 2025 with an evening (7:00pm) start time; our time together will last approximately 45-60 minutes.
Weather:
Should the weather not be conducive to our grief walk, all registered guests will be advised by email and / or text message by 4:00pm on the day of the event. If an event is cancelled, it will not be rescheduled.
