Unique Things

Executor's Toolkit

When you are an executor, whether the estate is simple or complex, an estate settlement resource is needed. Even the smallest estates require the submission of death notification letters. Park Memorial can provide you with an estate settlement tool to provide you with the help you need. Developed and routinely audited by a provincial team of estate settlement professionals, these products offer value that you will be able to immediately recognize. The Executor’s Toolkit includes the Taking Care of Loved Ones’ Affairs Workbook --- easy-to-understand and filled with practical tips, this comprehensive guide provides step-by-step instructions that save time and money in most administrative estate matters. Complete with samples of death notification letters, revenue and expense journals, inventory forms, legal glossaries, and checklists highlighting executor responsibilities, the workbook is full of helpful information and tips to save you money. The kit also includes an instructional DVD that provides answers to commonly asked estate-related questions including how to start the estate settlement process, when probate is required, topics to discuss when meeting with bankers, insurance brokers, investment advisors, lawyers and accountants, how many death certificates are required and who needs to be notified of the death. Please ask us how you can get your Executor's Toolkit today.

Batesville Living Memorial Tree Program

Did you know that your casket purchase could generate a tree planted in memory of your loved one?

Batesville supplies Park Memorial with caskets, urns and keepsake jewellery. We are pleased that they are able to give back to the community by planting trees in designated tree parks across the province. Depending on the product you choose, you may be eligible to have a tree planted in memory of your loved one.

Living Memorial tree plantings have been in the following areas in Alberta in the last few years:

Pigeon Lake Provincial Park
Fish Creek Provincial Park
Thunder Lake Provincial Park
Edmonton River Valley
Schools throughout Alberta
The species of trees planted vary and are determined by the specific areas plantings take place. To date over twelve million trees have been planted in Canada and United States as part of the Batesville Living Memorial Program.

Keepsake Jewellery

Individual keepsake jewellery pieces can play an important part in the healing process and enable family members to create personal tributes that last a lifetime.  These beautiful, uniquely designed jewellery pieces provide a personal reminder of the special relationship you shared with your loved one.  All pieces are designed to securely hold the tiniest portion of cremated remains, earth from the burial plot, a lock of hair, or a dried flower petal.

Sterling Silver or 14K Gold
Park Memorial offers a selection of necklaces and bracelets crafted in sterling silver or 14K gold on which pendants, lockets and charms of unique design can be placed.

Remembrance Beads
Individual or themed bead sets are available.  These beads are crafted in sterling silver, Munano glass, natural stone or hand-blown glass and are compatible with most popular bead company products, such as Pandora.

Commemorative Rose Petal Jewellery
Roses often represent more than a flower arrangement.  They are recognized as a true expression of love.  To help retain those cherished memories, Park Memorial can help preserve your special roses and transform them into beautiful keepsakes.  Actual roses from floral arrangements will be used to create durable and long lasting beads for handmade rosaries, necklaces, earrings, and other fine jewellery.  All jewellery used in these products is rhodium silver plated.

Book of Memories

Park Memorial is honoured to make the “Book of Memories” available to every family we serve.  The Book of Memories (BOM) is an advanced online memorial for those wishing to honour the memory of a loved one.  The deceased’s individual memorial website is set up by Park Memorial after the time of arrangements for families to expand and grow their loved ones tribute.

On the website, family and friends may:

  • Read important service detail information
  • Repost the obituary on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter
  • Post condolences, comments and tributes
  • Subscribe to an RSS feed or to receive email updates
  • Upload and share photos
  • Light a Memorial Candle
  • Place memorial donations
  • Order floral arrangements

The Book of Memories is archived so that it can continue to be available and shared with family, friends and future generations.

Commemorating First Responders Program

As a Wilbert Licensee, Park Memorial is honoured to offer and be part of the Commemorating First Responders Program.  This program provides families of firefighters, law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel who have died in the line of duty with a tribute worthy of their valour and sacrifice.  At no charge to the family, Wilbert will donate a customized Wilbert Stainless Steel Triune burial vault.  If the family choice is cremation, Wilbert offer a selection of four urns as well as a Stainless Steel Triune urn vault for memorial tribute. We encourage you to inquire about this worthwhile program.
