Obituary for Nicholas John Iftody

Nicholas John Iftody passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at age 94 in Edmonton Alberta. Born on March 23, 1925 in Boian, Alberta, Nick is survived by his three loving daughters, Rosemary Strach, Nikki Andruik and Dr. Barbara Dunning; son-in-law, Ted Horton; grandsons, Thomas and Wesley Horton; and granddaughters, Katy and Laura Dunning; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by daughter, Wendy Horton; parents John and Rose Iftody; brothers, Metro and Mike Iftody; and sisters, Mary Toma and Sanda Porozni. A unique soul and father to his four daughters, Nick imparted to them his love and compassion for animals, his vast store of knowledge, which included how to build houses from scratch, and inspired them to always be innovative and independent thinkers. The world’s original recycler, Nick relished being able to fix things and make them useful again. A private service, family gathering, and Celebration of Life will be held at a future date TBD. Memorial donations may be made in Nick’s name to the Edmonton Humane Society.
