 | Kirstie Smolyk, Vice President
Kirstie began working at Park Memorial during her summer breaks from the University of Alberta. She received her Bachelor of Commerce in 1995 and went on to work full time at the funeral home for the next two years. With a keen interest in communications, Kirstie decided to further her education and obtained her Public Relations diploma from Grant MacEwan Community College. Her education led her to the Canadian Red Cross where she worked for almost five years, writing and editing publications, working with the media, and planning special events.
Kirstie obtained her funeral director's licence in 2003 and enjoys working to find new and creative ways to help families more effectively during their time of need. She is the third generation of the Smolyk family now fully involved in this family owned and operated funeral home.

Len Ohlman, Assistant Manager
While serving in the Canadian Forces in 2002, Len became intrigued with funeral service and began volunteering at a funeral home in Bon Accord. Two years later, after a 21-year career with the Navy and the Military Police, including three UN/NATO tours to the former Yugoslavia, Len retired. He then began to pursue his passion full-time --- becoming a funeral director and embalmer.
Len graduated from the Western School of Funeral Service in 2005, while working at Foster & McGarvey. In 2006, Len joined the team at Park Memorial and quickly became one of the senior directors on staff. Most recently, in November 2011, Len became Park Memorial’s Assistant Manager.
Len is married to Donna and together they have two beautiful daughters, Kayla and Alicia. Away from work, Len can be found “taking it easy” on the family acreage near Westlock. With horses, donkeys, potbelly pigs, dogs, cats, there is never a dull moment to be had.
