Obituary for Gladys Romanko

Print
The family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Gladys Romanko of Edmonton, AB, on January 7, 2019 at the age of 72 years.
Gladys was loved by all and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Gladys enjoyed life and had a passion for gardening, cooking, fishing, traveling, gambling, spending time at the cabin and reading. Gladys had a big heart. She was kind and caring, loved to joke and laugh and dearly loved every moment spent with her family. Gladys worked for the Alberta Municipal Government for 35 years and upon retirement worked for H&R Block part time.
Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Adam; her daughter, Monica Romanko-Woods (Murray); her grandsons, Adam (Katie) and Josh Woods; her siblings, Con (Angela) Wolansky, Shirley (Walter) Machura, Doreen Harrison (Dave) and Pat Romanko; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Gladys is predeceased by her parents George and Lena Wolansky.
The family is eternally grateful to the doctors and nurses at the Cross Cancer Institute of Alberta and the Grey Nuns Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and care.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Millwoods Golf Course, Woodvale Facility, 4540-50 Street Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T6G 1Z2
