Obituary for Robert Glen Lammie

Print
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Glen Lammie on September 29, 2018 after a short, but very courageous battle with cancer.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor; daughter, Buffy; son, Doug; sister, Gail Shaw; and daughter-in-law, Kristi.
Robert was born in Edmonton on April 8, 1939 to John and Dorothy Lammie. He was an accomplished and award winning athlete, active in hockey, football, swimming and sailing. Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta and obtained his Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation. Soon after University, he started his own very successful company and then met his beloved wife, Eleanor. Robert and Eleanor started their own family and began their wonderful life together welcoming children, Buffy and Doug. The family enjoyed summer holidays at the lake and winter vacations with extended family members in Hawaii. Robert was known for his compassion and willingness to help others. His expertise and guidance was sought out by many and he was noted as an outstanding coach, mentor and advisor. Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Easaw, Dr. Makhdoom, Dr. Snelgrove and all of their Team members for the care and compassion that they provided to Robert.
In keeping with Robert’s expressed wishes, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation – Provincial Office, Suite 710 Sun Life Place, 10123 – 99 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5J 3H1 or a charity of your choice.
