On March 2, 2018, Carrie Poetz of Edmonton passed away at the age of 63 years.
Carrie is survived by her two sons, Ahlen (Shawna) and Shawn (Ginger); five grandchildren, Xsawna, Shali, Ivy, Marvel, Micah and one on the way; two sisters-in-law, Karol (Len) and Debbie (Daryl); one brother-in-law, Jimmy; and several nieces, nephews, and her beloved Shih-Tzu, Dexter. Predeceased by her mother, Hazel Adams; her love, Ahlen Sr. Tyler; one sister-in-law, Joanne Tyler; three brothers-in-law, Frank Tyler, Keith Tyler and Tuppy Tyler; and her sons Godmother, Sharon Bridges.
Carrie Poetz was an amazing women who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She helped fill the hearts of the less fortunate with her acts of compassion and empathy. Carrie appreciated life and the opportunity to extend it, after her transplant.
Her family would like to thank her Transplant team at the University of Alberta Hospital for giving her a fighting chance to live beyond their expectancy. They would also like to thank the Intensive Care Unit that allowed her a peaceful transition into heaven surrounded by her family.
Family and friends may pay their respects Friday, March 9 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Funeral Home, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton.
