Obituary for Leona Laddish (Melnychuk)

Leona Laddish (Melnychuk)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Leona Laddish.
Leona was born and raised in Vegreville, AB. She loved math and physics and chose a career as a physics lab instructor at the University of Alberta, where she worked until retirement. Music and dancing were her passion; she sang with the Dnipro Choir and enjoyed dancing at the Foot Notes Studio. Leona travelled the world and loved learning about the culture and history of different countries.
Leona will be sadly missed by her sisters, Olga (Silver) Eliuk and Emily (Mike) Palynchuk; and fondly remembered by her nephews and nieces, William, Kathryn (Callum), and Christine (Fryderyk); and numerous relatives and friends. Leona was predeceased by her parents, William and Helen Melnychuk; close friend, Norman Udey; and nephew, Christopher Palynchuk.
Funeral Service Wednesday November 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton with interment in Rosehill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, or charity of one’s choice.
