Obituary for Emil Hryciw
It is with great sadness but many cherished memories that we announce the peaceful death of Emil Hryciw of Edmonton at the age of 95 years.
Emil was predeceased by his wife of almost 50 years, Yvonne Hryciw (née Raboud); his parents, Andrew and Rose Hryciw; and infant sister, Olga. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Aurela Rebus; his Hryciw children, Ken, Margot (Phil) Taylor, Rob (Theresa), Wayne (Kelly), Maureen Raboud (Thomas Braacx), Elaine (John) Paton and Neil (Sue); former daughter-in-law, Liz Hryciw; his grandchildren, Bryan (Tracy) Hryciw, Ben (Sarah) Hryciw, Katt Hryciw; Jennifer Burgess, Andrew (Meagan) Taylor, Aaron (Tegan) Hryciw, Anna (Jonathan) Zacharko, Lisa (John-Boy) Hahn; Meggan Hryciw, Jack Hryciw; Adam Mjolsness, Erika Mjolness (Dan Hawkins); Mark (Andrea) Paton, Krista Paton, Michael Paton; Heather Grant and Colin Hryciw; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Alice (Jim) Boyes; numerous nieces and nephews; his Rebus stepchildren, Bob (Joyce), Don (Chris), Chriss (Kent) Winterfield, Violet (Michael) Tilleard, Camille (Rick) Ross; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional medical care Emil received in his final years, his General Practitioner, Dr. Doug Strilchuk; his Southeast Homecare Coordinator, Joanne Blair; his service providers from Bayshore Home Health; and Unit 43 Palliative Care at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital. We would also like to acknowledge the staff and residents of Churchill Manor for their service and friendship.
Family and friends may pay their respects Monday, July 31 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Funeral Home, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton.
Funeral Mass Tuesday, August 1 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, 7508 – 29 Ave, Edmonton with Reverend Donald McLeod CSB officiating. Cremation will take place later followed by a private inurnment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
