Obituary for Gerald Iwanyk

It is with great sadness the family of Gerald Iwanyk announce his passing. Husband, father, Gido and a friend to many, Gerald was known for his immense love of family, as well as the kindness and compassion he showed to others. He will be remembered for his keen wit and sense of humour and how he always put his family first.
One of eight children, Gerald is survived by his wife, Julia; son Mike (Elizabeth); daughters, Jeannie (Paul),and Mary (Hap); sister Jeannie who resides in Ukraine; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, John in 2004.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Riaz and staff at Sturgeon Community Hospital.
Prayers Monday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 10825 – 97 Street.
Burial Service and Divine Liturgy Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. Cathedral Clergy officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & Nunavut, 10985 - 124 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 0H9.
